Mellow Yellow

Good afternoon/evening/Lord help us all, hah-hah!

I'll get you Butler!
Great news- all three sponsorship pages are now into 'three figures' territory, which is such a boost to all concerned. Thank you to everyone who has donated, especially those who dig-deep year after year to help these great causes. And a massive tip o'the hat also to those who have donated who don't even know me- that is perhaps even more staggering...

The way we were...
The start of the ride will be upon us before you know it (alright, that's enough cheering) and this will be the last Grand Tour for my bike. There now follows a public information notice/heartfelt tribute to the Yellow Peril. No, *you've* got something in your eye...

And how we looked a few years and miles later.
It started out life as a Kinesis Racelight T2 in black, bought through the Cycle-2-Work scheme in November 2011. Gradually almost all of the components were replaced, mainly because they were worn-out. Just like Trigger's broom, the only original bits on it are the seat post, shifters and the frame and forks, hah-hah!

The Yellow Peril's replacement (and yes, they have met) was also bought through the Cycle-2-Work scheme and its two main areas of improvement are better brakes and the ability to fit much fatter tyres which will give a greater degree of comfort over Lancashire's shonky surfaces. We'll see...

The Y.P.'s successor...lairy!
There was a slight bit of mechanical faff recently too: I had thrown the Y.P. into Mr Colin Gardner aka The Bike Magician to get fettled and he spotted this er, hub trauma...

I *am* losing weight, honest. Just not enough, hah-hah!
In the event, I was lucky to get this sorted here rather than have it happen in deepest, darkest France or worse still, Bedfordshire, hah-hah!

Colin rebuilt the wheel. No muss, no fuss!
Okay then, on to the serious stuff: please, please have a look down the sides of your sofa and see if you have any spare change: the cost of a coffee or a beer will help the charities to help those who need it. Thanks again...
Have a great weekend!

So that's the hard-sell: three Great Causes and it'd be terrific to raise a few quid for those that need it. In the meantime, here's today's ear worm...cheers!
Mr Leitch at his finest, perhaps!
